Job Description
As a Technical Operator, you will play a key role in optimizing equipment performance and improving production processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You’ll work hands-on with machinery to ensure efficient operation, lead process improvements, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
This position combines technical aptitude with analytical problem-solving skills, requiring strong attention to detail, initiative, and a commitment to product quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Optimize equipment setup and operating practices to enhance production efficiency.
- Analyze and plan workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout to improve manufacturing operations.
- Ensure product and process quality by developing and performing testing methods, collecting data, and confirming standards.
- Maintain detailed reports by collecting and summarizing production and quality data.
- Coordinate maintenance and repair activities per manufacturer instructions and company standards.
- Develop, update, and train employees on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Execute design and development projects and guide operators and technicians in implementing improvements.
- Operate packaging lines and equipment as needed to maintain production flow.
- Identify, propose, and execute cost-reduction and process-improvement initiatives.
- Support Research & Development and Continuous Improvement projects, including vendor visits and trials.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical background or mechanical aptitude preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and production software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Basic math skills and strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends.
- Knowledge of manufacturing best practices and continuous improvement principles.
- Demonstrated ability to follow safety, quality, and sanitation procedures (SQF, GMP, HACCP).
- Must successfully complete training on operating equipment and mechanical aptitude testing.

The base pay range for this position is $23/hour, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
