Controller | Direct Hire | Des Moines, IA Metro | On-Site w/ Local Travel | $130,000–$150,000
A growing manufacturing company is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead financial operations and partner closely with executive leadership. This role reports directly to the CEO and plays a critical role in financial reporting, cost accounting, and profitability analysis within a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Key responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle accounting including A/P, A/R, GL, banking, and reconciliations
- Lead month-end close and prepare accurate financial statements
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Analyze profitability by product, customer, and segment
- Improve cost accounting, job costing, and internal controls
- Manage cash flow, payroll journal entries, and tax compliance
- Support ERP usage and process documentation – Acumatica preferred
- Lead and develop a small accounting team – background within a small business setting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience
- At least 3-5 years as a Controller within a manufacturing environment
- Strong GAAP, cost accounting, and financial reporting knowledge
- ERP experience and advanced Excel skills
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
