Job Description:
A manufacturing organization is seeking a SolidWorks PDM Specialist to support the development and optimization of its engineering data and workflow infrastructure. This role is designed for someone with a foundation in mechanical design or drafting who is ready to move upstream into engineering systems, governance, and data management.

This role is designed for someone with a foundation in mechanical design or drafting who is ready to move upstream into engineering systems, governance, and data management.
You will work directly with an experienced PDM Administrator while owning meaningful project work tied to New Product Introduction (NPI), Engineering Change Requests (ECR/ECO), product release, and revision control. The position offers a practical pathway into PDM administration and engineering systems leadership without requiring you to step away from hands-on engineering exposure.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and improve SolidWorks PDM workflows supporting NPI, ECR/ECO, release management, and revision control
• Collaborate with the PDM Administrator on system configuration, governance standards, and best practices
• Support backend PDM functions including workflow configuration, user permissions, vault structure, and data card optimization
• Assist with SQL-backed vault maintenance concepts, archive server structure, and performance considerations (under guidance)
• Strengthen integration points between CAD, PDM, ERP, and CRM systems to ensure clean data flow
• Contribute to the planning and implementation of SolidWorks Manage integration
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and IT to ensure workflows are practical and adopted
• Provide limited hands-on support for ECRs, releases, or design updates to stay aligned with real engineering activity

• Strong organizational and project management capability
• Self-directed learner comfortable experimenting, testing configurations, and building process documentation
