Job Description
The Set-Up Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating CNC grinding machines to produce precision components. This role involves adjusting machine settings, performing quality inspections, and ensuring production meets tight tolerances. Daily tasks include reading blueprints, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining efficient workflow in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC grinding machines (OD/ID, centerless, or surface)
- Adjust tooling, offsets, and machine settings for production runs
- Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
- Read and interpret blueprints and job specifications
- Troubleshoot machining issues and maintain production efficiency
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 2+ years of CNC machining or grinding setup experience preferred
- Experience with precision measurement tools and tight tolerances
- Ability to read blueprints and follow detailed instructions
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
